Arvin Jairus's work is the result of a conscious decision to avoid the figurative. Beginning with the touching of the interface between the figurative narrative and painting as action, as action and language moving away from this border area in order to immerse himself deeper and deeper into painting as a visual, but not representative activity. At first glance, the viewer could be mistaken and think it is about an "expressive painting". The always thoughtful, careful and precise brush work, and the recurring minute differences in tone or surprisingly complex color nuances, indicate a listening painting. It is a painting that allows the artist to step out of himself, regardless of his mental state and changing moods, to fully serve what is happening on the canvas.
