Arvin Jairus Perez is a 27-year-old Artist who was born in Basel, Switzerland in 1994. Since he finished his Art studies at Neue Kunst Schule in Basel with a Diploma in Painting he has been working in his own Atelier in Basel, St. Johann were he grew up and went to School.
In his earlier years Arvin was also interested in the Arts of Music and started playing Guitar and playing Bass in Bands in his Hometown Basel and had played Show’s all around Switzerland at an early age of fifteen.
Quickly after the successful Show “Punk Rock” by Simon Stephens premiered 18. September 2010 that was shown in Switzerland, Germany and Austria, he decided to dedicate his Life to the Arts and started to launch his first Projects.
After being a Bassist in different Bands he launched his Solo Project “Arbajo Jairus” after a longer absence from Producing and started composing and writing his original Rap lyrics in a variations of different styles including Hip Hop, Soul, Old-school, lo-fi and other Vibes.
Mostly he would work with Grandmaster “Meister Lampe” wich is known in the Hip Hop World quite
well. Now almost 6 years ago “Arbajo Jairus” is on his 4th Album. He has played with names like Eevee (NL), Goldroger (DE), Grieves (US), Apollo Brown (US) & Planet Asia (US) and other Artists.
Interested in both Arts since he had been a young Boy, it was only with the Age of 18 he was sincerely dedicated to Painting and being a Musician Full time.
In his First Exhibition in his Art School “Neue Kunst Schule” he sold 8 of 10 Paintings. His first Live Show was a great success and the Debut Album was known all over Town and was the Start of his Rap career. Together they dropped another Studio Album called “Players & Gambling Lovers” which was released in 2017.
His Live Show’s are always energized and takes the Crowd to a Level of Ectasia not comparable to any other Live Act today.
The Paintings by Arvin Jairus Perez show the deep understanding of the Artist of processing the Materials used. In this Case the Oil Color which is applied with care and thought are used to build a World that has never existed before. Colors and Form and Application of Paint is the main aspect of his art.
You can find broken colors, shapes and Structures who were applied in processed brush strokes or untouched spaces which give the Viewer a story to interpret own their own and reenacting the action took by the Artists, while playing with the personal Emotional aspect of Colors, and finally with using the the mixed Colors the Artist leads the Viewers Path on the Canvas.
In Conversation with the Painting the Artist shows the Tension of Processes that reflects in his Works in a unique way so the Viewers get invited to comprehend, appreciate and live trough the Process that has been lived by the Artist and reflect on the Medium Painting that is standing for Freedom of Expression which is the main thrive for Artists like Arvin Jairus Perez.
